Soundscape Architecture
Release:
July 4th, 2009 (time theory netlabel)
"Synthia, our TT friends in the frozen white north, can always be counted upon to bring the party to the dancefloor, which they do in the opening number of "Soundscape Architecture" but... it's an ambush! The party gets started but then the dancefloor itself falls into deep space just a few tracks in! Was this what we expected? Probably not, and yet we aren't complaining! Yes this release features a number of signature Synthiod sounds, including a number of ambient pieces reminiscent of "Winter Whitenoise" (the Synthia release Time Theory secretly wishes it had gotten) and the balance between fun and deep is blended well. As is traditional, a hidden track is included, but you'll have to find it yourself!
Let the sounds of Synthia into your ears and stereos, perhaps it may make up for their inability to make it into the US!" -- time theory netlabel

1. Chirp

The Fun Police
Released:
January 17th, 2009 (through DWU)
"The Fun Police. What's there to say, when a name says it all? Synthia will make sure that you'll have a good time with all the power of the fun law. They do that by giving electro music back what it lost along the way. The childish playfulness, the innocence needed to break down barriers and do things differently. The result is a highly enjoyable mix of minimal techno, catchy melodies, grooving drum machines and all synth sounds from the last 40 (just check the 80 synths in "To The Future" and you'll know what I mean) years. All that is held together by a clear production that gives every melody and harmony enough space behind the 4-2-da-floor drums (mostly... I mean it's still fucking TECHNO!). I have my favourites but I'll let you find you own ones. This release is a must for all Techno fans, fans of fun music and also fans of experimental music that's still danceable (sometimes called IDM... I refrain from that term since Synthia would probably laugh at me if I called what they do intelligent). Have it, love it, give it dirty names. " -- Delta Wave Underground

Solve The Cube
Released:
September 15th, 2008 (timetheory netlabel)
"In this age of uncertainty in the US, we look to our neighbors in the north and find that they still know how to have a pretty good time! Synthia, a Canadian duo, sent Timetheory this album full of fun tracks and colorful sounds. The first description TTHQ gave Synthia about it was that it sounded like a mixture of Dr. Dre and Thompson Twins. As this description may unnerve some people, it's best to listen and give the music a chance to speak for itself. And indeed it's fun music. Labels, like people cannot be dead serious all the time.Better artistic connections between Canada and the US are long overdue. Timetheory's glad to help wherever we can!" -- timetheory netlabel
